I honestly checked out right here. I can smell a contrarian from many a mile away.

A long time ago I made a suggestion that we should be able to change the music in our hideouts to other Path of Exile songs. My thread had more than one post saying it was a stupid idea because they didn't want to join someone's hideout and hear Crazy Frog playing. I never said anything about allowing any music, just Path of Exile music. Not long after that GGG added the mtx to allow you to do just that, which I chalk up to it already being in the pipeline more than me actually having a good idea for once, and I'm sure I wasn't the first.

Anyway my point is, you are right. I still wouldn't change these forums for the world

Well... this forum is certainly a unique place to get exactly what it provides. I can grant you this statement, for sure, lol.

I believe you when you say you wouldn't even read the post of someone who disagrees with you.

Respectfully, I don't think that's the winning retort you presume it to be.

Your generic gamer is basically a tool, they only want to look like a badass internet warrior who derisively puts down his peers to make himself look better. Not many can be actually nice. It is an attitude that was somehow fostered when someone laughed at someone else putting yet another person down like 3 decades ago. Because it got a laugh, some choad thought to himself, "everyone thinks that guy is cool for insulting another person, I want to be cool, I am gonna start insulting everyone." This asinine behavior became more and more prevalent.

Fast forward 30 years, now everyone wants to be a hardass and discredit everyone else (Ok, not everyone, but 95% of gamers). It is an institution now. Nice and constructive is WAY less common. Sadly, I took part in this long ago, it is a hard cycle to break for some. I (mostly) grew out of it, but many do not.

Unfortunately, forums frequented by gamers are seldom positive, supportive or constructive.

EDIT: I've played something like 40+ games with active forums. I have found a grand total of 1 game that had more positive posters than negative in all my 35+ years of online gaming - LotRO. Nice players, for the most part, like its a shock, you go, ask a question, get 1 snide remark and 50 helpful posts.
