No offense, but ur conclusion is wrong. It just means that u don't know enough about the game yet.
U can make so many things work in PoE that are not meta, it just takes more effort und might not be as fast/clean as the well known builds, hence why they are considered meta.
Usually newer players don't realize the potential because they just don't know as much about the game yet and that's fine.
Stat stackers might be the end all be all for late late late endgame if u wanna rush 100% deli full juiced maps or do 5 shapers/second, but there's alot in between that and a build that can't clear T16s.

For anyone who doubts this all you have to do is click on over to Mathil's stream, and tune into what he's working on. Every league he theory crafts and tests dozens of build ideas and has near 100% success rate in making them work to the point they're clearing all content with maybe exception to ubers. Don't be so shortsighted in thinking that the game paints you into a corner.

No offense but clearing T16 with white trash mobs is possible for literally every single gem when you know the skill tree.
Ubers are already a good measurement for how well an archetype preforms. And if you need 5 mirrors to make sunder Uber viable compared to a 5 divine Bannerman build, there is something significant wrong in the game.

I melt Uber Exarch in matter of seconds, not even allowing him to enter his ball phase, and my build is a complete 20-divine trash off-meta build.

if you're talking about the warden then the boots alone are more than 20 divs
